As part of our Learn to Screen Print classes, students in this holiday themed workshop will develop a design concept for gift wrap and stationery and bring it to life using the technical (and fun!) skills needed to screen print in repeat. Create unique and beautiful printed paper goods in our inspiring and friendly studio space. Because we want to make design and screen printing an accessible hobby, all of our classes focus on techniques that are easily transferable to your home studio, also known as your kitchen table! Leave this Screen Printing Workshop energized and equipped with all the skills you need to continue your design work at home. All of our screen printing classes are taught with a spirit of experimentation, and we love fostering each student’s individual creative process.

Classwork includes…

  • Basic artwork development techniques and how to take your designs from paper to handcut stencils. (Students are invited to bring their laptops if that is their preferred method of design, however this is not a Photoshop or Illustrator focused course.)
  • Screen printing setup and prep including how to set up a home studio.
  • Screen printing methods for paper.
  • Repeat printing methods.
  • Production testing and troubleshooting while screen printing.
  • Multiple color printing will be discussed, though this class focuses on single color designs.

Students will leave the Holiday Screen Printing Workshop with...

  • Knowledge, skills, tips, and tricks taught by experts in their field.
  • A finished project to show friends how talented you are!**
  • Drinks and snacks from our favorite Brooklyn-based shops. Day-long classes also include locally curated lunches and a fun cocktail hour to end each day.
  • Photographs of you, your fellow classmates, and the awesome projects you make.
  • Productive creative time spent working and learning in a friendly, inspiring, and well equipped studio space.
  • A gift bag/tool kit with some of our instructor’s favorite crafty products to help students continue their creative work at home.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
